About Air Astana
Air Astana is the national airline of Kazakhstan and is headquartered in Almaty. The service has a flight size of 31 and travels up to 64 destinations across globe. The company is in the joint ownership of Samruk-Kazyna and BAE Systems PLC with 51% and 49% share respectively. The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation recognized the airline’s performance better than any of its competitors in the first decade. However, the starts were not ideal as it would be for any start-up-carrier to flourish. BAE Systems just before the launch of the service announced their participation in the project which was originally conceived as a domestic airline. Nurzhan Baidauletov is the Chairman and Peter Foster is the President and CEO of the company.
